Mill Cert Matcher — Receiving Inspection Cert & PO Cross-Check. Find the mismatch before the material hits the floor.

Reads a mill test certificate (also called a mill test report or MTR; plain text, or a PDF with a text layer), cross-checks it with the purchase order and the drawing material callout, and checks chemistry and mechanicals against your own spec-limits library. Every extracted value carries its source file, page and line. Anything uncertain is a HOLD for a person, never a silent PASS.

Screening aid that flags issues for human review. Not a legal, compliance, or material-certification determination.

What it checks

RuleCheckOutcome
MCM-MAT-01Alloy, temper (your equivalences) and spec match across cert, PO and drawingMismatch: REJECT. Missing: HOLD
MCM-QTY-01Thickness (within your tolerance) and quantityMismatch: REJECT. Cert cannot confirm: HOLD
MCM-CHEM-01Chemistry against your spec-limits libraryOut of limits: REJECT. No limits configured: HOLD
MCM-MECH-01Tensile, yield, elongation against your library (ksi or MPa)Out of limits: REJECT
MCM-DFARS-01Melt country against a qualifying list you configure (off by default, no built-in list)Not on your list: REJECT. Missing or no list: HOLD
MCM-HEAT-01Heat number already in your local history (same supplier and spec)HOLD
MCM-SIG-01Signature or certification statement presentHOLD
MCM-DATE-01Cert date present and parseableHOLD
MCM-CONF-01Any field below the confidence floor, or a PDF with no text layerHOLD

Verdict: any REJECT line gives REJECT, otherwise any HOLD gives HOLD, otherwise PASS. Exit codes for scripts: 0 PASS, 3 HOLD, 4 REJECT.

Privacy

  • Certificates, POs and drawings are read on your computer and are never uploaded.
  • With --offline the tool makes no network call at all and still produces the full card.
  • When you choose a signed receipt, only an audit hash, a hash of the PO number and a one-line metric are sent to the signing endpoint. Certificate text, heat numbers, supplier names and file names are not.
  • The heat-history file is local and is only written when you pass --record-heat.

Limits

  • No OCR: a scanned PDF is a HOLD. Unusual cert layouts may not extract; low-confidence fields become HOLD lines rather than guesses.
  • Built-in spec limits are illustrative examples only. Bring your own library from the controlling spec revision.
  • It does not approve or certify material, and it makes no DFARS or ITAR determination.

FAQ

Does it approve or certify material?
No. It flags issues for a human. HOLD means a person decides; REJECT means flagged for human review as mismatched or out of limits. Screening aid that flags issues for human review. Not a legal, compliance, or material-certification determination.
Does it check DFARS or ITAR compliance?
No. If you turn on melt-country screening you supply the qualifying-country list; the tool only reports whether the cert's melt country is on that list. It makes no compliance determination.
Are the spec limits built in?
Only a few illustrative example entries, labelled as such on every card. Supply your own spec-limits library from the controlling spec revision. A spec, alloy or temper missing from your library is a HOLD, never a PASS.
What about scanned certificates?
There is no OCR. A PDF without a text layer is a HOLD. Text-layer PDFs are read with a pinned, hash-verified open-source PDF library; plain-text certs need no dependency.
What leaves my machine?
Nothing, with --offline. Otherwise only an audit hash, a hash of the PO number and a one-line metric (for example HOLD · 2 of 9 lines flagged) go to the receipt-signing endpoint. Certificate text, heat numbers, supplier names and file names are never sent.
How is it licensed?
One-time $39 USD license with up to 3 workspace-reset rebinds and no subscription. Pay by card, Apple Pay or Google Pay. The license unlocks both the 1-click Grok Bot template and the standalone Python 3 CLI.
